The Number of B Corps in the U.S. Keeps Climbing. Here's Why.

As B Corp certification rises globally, Inc. Magazine decided to investigate why companies strive to achieve this status. It’s a challenging process, but one that many founders and CEOs feel is worthwhile.

To find out why the certification is so valuable, Inc. asked Wren Montgomery to comment on how B Corp status helps consumers verify that companies aren’t greenwashing.

"A known certification allows consumers to trust that a third party -- someone with much more time and knowledge than we have while standing in a retail aisle! -- has investigated and confirmed that the company meets their standards," says Wren.

Wren also cautions consumers to look out for "very loose or even fake" certifications on the shelves, as they do exist.
